Position: Head Coach

Canton McKinley football coach Dan Reardon, in his 3rd year at McKinley, has a career record of 96-56 (.632), 3 state championships, and 4 state championship appearances.

Reardon started his coaching career in the college ranks as a graduate assistant, first on Jim Tressel's staff at Youngstown State, and then with Cam Cameron at Indiana. He then became an assistant from 1998-2003 at Warren Harding under coaches Gary Barber and Thom McDaniels. Reardon moved on to Youngstown Ursuline in 2004. Posting a record of 72-29 while at Ursuline, Reardon’s teams appeared in four state championship games, winning three straight from 2008-2010.

He also coached in a Division I state championship game in 2003 at Warren Harding.

A move out west ensued, and Coach Reardon found himself as head coach at Poudre High School, near Fort Collins, Colorado for two years, starting in 2012. In 2014, Reardon moved to Wheat Ridge High School, and coached the Farmers to a 6-4 record.

Position: Defensive Coordinator/ Linebackers

Coach Grimsley returns for his 11th season to the McKinley staff as defensive coordinator for 2017. As an assistant coach at McKinley he was picked to serve as an East - West All-Star Game assistant coach in 2012. Before coaching at McKinley, Josh served as a coach at Souers Middle school in 2005. Notable athletes he has coached include Steve Miller- 2008-2011 (OSU/Carolina Panthers), Se'Von Pittman - 2009- 2012 (OSU/Akron), Tre'Vonte Jackson - 2010-2013 (Toledo, Ashland), Jamal Davis- 2011-2014 (Pitt Panthers)

Josh graduated from McKinley High School where he earned athletic honors such as being a 3-Year Letterwinner in football and baseball, 2002 Team Captain, 1st Team All-County WHBC and Repository, 1st Team All-NE Inland District. Honorable Mention All-Ohio (2002), Don Scott Award (McKinley Football), and Academic Award winner (McKinley Football). He then went on to attend Malone University and Walsh University.

Josh lives in Canton with his wife of 7 years, Tiffany. They have one son, Grant (6). Josh works in the safety and security department for Canton City Schools.

Position: Tight Ends

Coach Henry begins his 7th year on staff at McKinley. Previously, he has served as the Bulldogs quarterbacks coach, freshman head coach, and running backs coach. He also serves on the baseball staff at McKinley. Former athletes he coached include Tyler Foster and Eric Glover-Williams (Ohio State).

Ryan played football at McKinley for Coach Thom McDaniels, where he was a team captain and three year starter at quarterback. He then went on the play for BGSU under coach Gary Blackney and was again a three year starter, as well as runner-up for MVP in the Mid-American Conference.

After graduating from Canton McKinley, Coach Henry attended Bowling Green State University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Interpersonal Communication.

Ryan and wife Tammy live in Green with their daughter McKenna (11).

Position: Corners

Moe Daniska joins the McKinley staff after a long a successful 19-year tenure at Canton South from 1998 through 2016. He spent 11 years as head coach of the Wildcats where he led Canton South to 3 Consecutive Playoff Appearances (2006, 2007, 2008) out of four in the history of the program. In 2006 & 2008, Daniska led Canton South High School to their only 2 playoff victories in school history. Other awards an accolades include:
• OHSAA Sportsmanship/Ethics/Integrity Award Nominee for Region 7
• 2 Time Canton Repository East West All-Star Team Head Coach
• Presented “I Can –Everyone” Award by Stark County MRDD for Special Needs Community Service
• 2006 Associated Press All Northeastern District Division III Co-Coach of the Year
• 2006 Stark County Coach of the Year for Divisions III, IV, V, and VI

Position: Defensive Tackles

Antonio Hall returns to his roots this season tutoring the defensive line. A Canton McKinley grad, Coach Hall went on to play at the University of Kentucky where he received degrees in history and music.

Before coming back to McKinley, Antonio coached at GlenOak.

Coach Hall resides in Canton, and has two children: Nikolas (13) and Noah (6).

Position: Offensive Line

Matt Leisure has come home to the McKinley staff coaching the offensive line. The 1998 McKinley graduate brings a wealth of experience in and out of Stark County. From 2002 to 2004, he coached at Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH. Following that, he joined the staff at Massillon, tutoring the offensive line of the Tigers from 2005 - 2014. In 2015, he coached at Jerome High School, in Dublin OH.

Matt now resides in Canton, with three-year-old daughter Margo. He is employed by Canton City Schools as an intervention specialist in the freshman academy at Timken.

Position: Linebackers

Chad is back at his alma mater for his 7th season as an assistant coach. This is his first year with the varsity as he spent the last 6 years as a freshman coach where his positions coached have included linebackers, running backs, special teams, defensive coordinator, and freshman head coach. As a player at McKinley, he was a 3-year starter at linebacker, tight end and fullback. He was a two-way starter, as a sophomore, in 1998 on McKinley’s last state championship team.

Coach Anderson is a graduate of Kent State University, where he earned a bachelor of science in sports administration, and he also attended the University of Kentucky where he accepted a full ride scholarship earning 3 letters and starting at inside linebacker for 2 seasons. Chad led the S.E.C. in tackles-per-game in the 2003 football season.

Chad lives in Canton, with his wife Camille where he serves as a behavior specialist.

Position: Safeties

Coach Hedrick returns for his 4th season as McKinley as defensive backs coach and 7th season over all. Mike served as the head freshman coach from 2004 – 2007. He then was an assistant running backs, wide receivers and defensive backs coach at Canton South from 2008 – 2013. He also serves as the head track coach for the Bulldogs.

Mike played for McKinley, and was a 3-year letterman in football and track. His football accomplishments include winning the Don Scott Award in 1988 and all-county honors in 1988. He was also all-Ohio in track in 1989.

Coach Hedrick, a Canton Township resident, graduated from Kent State with a degree in business administration. He is the parts manager at Kempthorn's, and has one daughter, Taylor (20).

Position: Defensive Ends

Coach White is in his third year on staff at McKinley. Previously he coached at St. Thomas Aquinas for 7 years where he served as defensive coordinator and strength and conditioning coordinator.

An all-county stand-out at Portsmouth Notre Dame, Matt went on to play at Walsh.

Coach White graduated from Walsh University with a degree in phyical education.

Matt lives in Canton, where he serves as director of day services and transportation, with wife Melanie and their three children: Julianne (9), Eli (7), and Ryan (4).

Position: Running Backs

Frank McLeod returns to McKinley this season as running backs coach. Coach McLeod is a Canton McKinley grad. From there he moved on to Youngstown State University earning a degree in criminal justice and social work.

Coach McLeod previously served as the head coach at Crenshaw Middle School.

Frank and his wife reside in Plain Township. He has 2 children: Felipe (10) and Frank II (1).

Position: Offensive Line

Chris Davis returns to McKinley this year coaching the offensive line. He is a graduate of Canton McKinley, and went on to Malone University, earning a bachelor of arts in history education.

Before coming to McKinley, Coach Davis served as a graduate assistant at Malone. 

Chris is a history teacher at McKinley High School. He and wife Morgan live in Canton, and are expecting their first child in late December.

Position: Quaterbacks

Coach Martter comes back to McKinley this season coaching the quarterbacks. Before coming to McKinley, Phil coached linebackers at Rittman High School from 2014 to 2015.

Phil is a graduate of Woodridge High School, in Penninsula, Ohio. He attended the University of Akron, earning a bachelor's of science degree in physical education. He also is the head wrestling coach for the Bulldogs.

Coach Martter teaches physical education at McKinley High School. He resides in North Canton and is engaged to Jill Arnold.
