Coaches & Staff

Coach Stevens is a 1988 graduate of Canton McKinley Senior High School, where he played JV basketball as a sophomore and junior. He then played for the Boys Club high school team where he helped lead that team to win the P.A.L State Basketball Championship in 1988. Korey is also a 2012 inductee into the Boys Club Hall of Fame.

Coach Stevens got started coaching youth basketball at the Y.M.C.A in 1992 and continued to coach until he was officially hired as an assistant coach at Hartford Middle School in 2008. He served as an assistant for two years, one under Bryant Bowden and the other under his JV coach, Mike Elliott, winning one Federal League Championship in 2010. He then served as the Hartford Middle School Head 7th and 8th coach from 2011 – 2013.

The past two years, Coach Stevens has served as the head freshman coach at Timken High School where his teams won back-to-back PAC 7 Championships. He was also the JV & varsity assistant coach under Mike McClesky and Rick Hairston. This year he serves as the head freshman coach of the black.
Coach Stevens has been working in Canton City School District since 2005 in various positions. He is currently the Behavioral Interventionist at McKinley Freshman Academy.

Korey attended Hocking Technical College and has his BA from Grand Canyon University in Elementary and Special Education. He has one daughter Korie Stevens, one godson who is just like my real son Coreon Brown and is married to his beautiful wife Valerie Stevens.
