PERRY TWP. McKinley scored in all three phases to beat the pesky Hoover Vikings at Lowell Klinefelter Field and win its fourth straight game.
The Bulldogs, who had scored at least 50 points in each of their three previous games, scored their only offensive touchdown when Josh Chandler ran 75 yards to put them up 8-0 midway through the second quarter. Dominique Robinson caught a 2-point conversion from Alijah Curtis.
McKinley later got a touchdown on a 97-yard kickoff return from Ja’Ron Lee. That answered Luke Reicosky’s 69-yard TD run for Hoover on the prior play.
Reggie Corner sealed the win by returning an interception 80 yards for a touchdown with 3:31 left. It is Corner’s second defensive touchdown of the season.
McKinley’s Sam Snyder added field goals of 36 and 48 yards. The latter tied the school record set by Zack Campbell in 2006 against Boardman.
Robinson completed 10 of 21 passes for 93 yards and added 50 yards rushing on 13 attempts. Javon Lewis added 64 yards on 12 carries.
Reicosky gained 100 yards on 10 carries. QB John Keller completed 20 of 36 passes for 149 yards and two interceptions. Daryl Daniels also picked off a pass for McKinley.
