Get This StraightUnderstand this, to whom it may concern, no one black woman or black man, boy or girl speak for me.I'm black, and i will tell the whole world i support Johnson, as do a lot other Black parents and fans. Get rid of the idea everybody black want a black coach!Stop making us the scapegoat because there are quite a few whites want johnson out.

Re: Get This Straight
The simple fact is that most people, white or black, don't care. Therein lies a huge problem....it seems that apathty in Canton and among the district's alumni is at an all time high. Of those who do care, there is a vocal minority on both sides....mostly white people who take issue with the manner in which the BOE handled Johnson's contract and mostly black people who've been vocal about wanting Johnson fired and replaced by a black coach. Both groups have people who are advocating with dignity and respect and other people who have crossed over the line with their comments. When it comes to governance, there isn't anything that I value more than transparency, good process/practice, and adherence to bylaws and state regulations. When you have solid governance, you have a BOE that attracts little attention to itself. The Canton BOE has failed to provide that for several years. It is not fair to place all of the blame on the three women who are currently on the Board, which has repeatedly been done. Two of them have been Board members for less than two months. The problem didn't just come into existance, it's been there, it just got worse. Until the problem is fixed, we will be perpetually having these battles; and, the kids in the district will continue to be the victims. Take the individuals from the two groups who have demonstrated some sense of professionalism and put them on a committee to address the division and apathy that is evident regarding the football program. At the same time, form a group to work with the BOE to address the weaknesses of the BOE. In my opinion, doesn't matter who "wins," doesn't matter who the coach is, anything short of that is going to be detrimental not only to the McKinley High School football program, but also the Canton City School District.
Re: Get This StraightJust a Fan. I agree with you 100% on your above post.
