..NY governor caught in prostitution wiretap...

Postby nordawg » Mon Mar 10, 2008 7:46 pm

...democratic governor elliot spitzer of new york was found to have been a "john" in a call girl wiretap...he has apologised and has said he will have more to say about it soon...i believe he should resign, because as attourney general, he went after prostitution rings pretty hard...he made his reputation this way and for him to remain would be serious hypocracy...just more "left-wing propagannda" from nordawg, i guess...lol.

nordawg,

I respected Eliot Spitzer for the job he did in cutting down crime as the governor of New York City. However, what he did was wrong and should not have happened with him holding a high ranking position.

Despite his wrongdoing, I will stand behind him until something comes up out of this that makes me lose respect for him.

He joins the list of David Vitter, Bill Clinton, James McGreevey, and several others who have made the mistake of having a relationship with someone else other than their wives.

Spitzer made a mistake. This was a one-time thing and believe me, it has happened as mentioned to others too. It wasn't like he has done this repeatedly and I commend his wife for standing behind him in a tough time like this and urging him to stay in office.

Give him a second chance and let him take advantage of it. Everyone makes mistakes at crucial points in their life. To harass him repeatedly about it would make no sense at all.

FloridaPolarBear,

You mean Spitzer did this over a 6-8 year period? No one made a note of that? That's difficult to accept.

Various men has cheated on their wives at one point in their life. Unless they are one of the flawless men, they can't boast they haven't. There are some who do cheat but it's not mentioned. This is the most serious thing I have seen since Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick apologized for his tryst with another woman...but his wife stood by him along with his three sons. That to me is faith and trust...something that can take you a long way.

Spitzer should have remained in office but I think the storm was too great to be in for him.

I wish the 48-year-old father of three all the best in getting himself together. He'll get through this OK.

....your heart must have been warmed seeing senator craig (R) of idaho's wife standing by her man after his cheating on his wife in public men's restrooms, too... such loyalty in the face of horror! her love kept this "family values republican" staying on in the senate to this day...God bless 'em...

He could not of kept his job as Govenor. He probably will be indited(sp?) on 2 or 3 different laws he broke unless he brokered some kind of deal for his resignation.

canton_fan,

The only thing missing for Spitzer is the wind, thunder, and lighting. He hasn't faced the full brunt of the storm yet. I don't think it will be a monsoon at best. But who knows.

This will get interesting! Could the monsoon finally hit the Spitzers? Stay tuned: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080316/ap_ ... r_mann_act
