The Tiger movie...

Postby The Atomic Dawg » Sun Apr 17, 2005 9:55 pm

I had joined the service before the Tiger movie came out. I've been seing all of these movies about Texas football, Friday Night Lights, Varsity Blues... Does the Tiger movie do McKinley and Ohio football any justice? If so, how can I get my hands on it so that I can clue these shipmates of mine in? Can I download it from anywhere/one? What's it called, so I can search for it?

I saw the tiger movie when it came out on dvd at Blockbuster while living in Dayton...I honestly thought it was embarrassing to Massillon and McKinley...Give me the benefit that it has been time, but the only thing I remember were their players acting like idiots and without class. At the time I was working with a guy whose parents lived in Massillon and was from the area...He even said the same...

With as many as movies that come out about high school football (Remember The Titans, Varsity Blues, Friday NIght Lights), they should do one about Ohio football...It doesnt even have to be about the McK-Mass rivalry...But how football is so engrained into 99% of the communities across the state...Ever travel to that one small hick town in "anywhere" Ohio, and they have "their" one player who was great and ended up at OSU...I'm sure there would be a great Hollywood story out there somewhere...

There was nothing embarrasing to McKinley in the movie (other than that the Bulldogs lost the game that year). The Massillon kids looked like a bunch of Hinnys.
