Good year so far for Lake basketball. Girls (#7) and boys (#14) both state ranked and undefeated.

Team needs to bounce back quick with a tough weekend ahead vs #3 Cincinnati Princeton and #10 Kettering Fairmont.

First Lake win ever over McKinley in girls basketball. WOW!

Lake (#7) shot lights out....gotta give them credit and move on. Two tough games this weekend against #3 Princeton and #10 Fairmont. Three games against state ranked teams in four days...don't see that very often.

Better to not go into the tourney undefeated...who are Twinsburg's two losses to?

1) First and foremost, gotta give 100% due credit to the Lady Streaks and their Coaching staff for bringing their A Game last night. They were confident from the start and hit big shot after big shot the entire first half. That's what won them the game. If you let a good team hang around, you're gonna lose some games like that.

2) I could've made a vast majority of the shots Stephens hit. She was WIDE open for 10-15 foot jumpers which is her game. Our transition defense/matching up wasn't great at times either. Too many easy baskets against the press/in transition.

3) The bigger issue was the offensive stagnation against Lake's match-up/1-3-1 zone. If Lake can trap us, we're in trouble against more athletic teams.

4) Bad night to have almost no bench help and have a star have one very off night. Not likely to happen again.

On the bright side, I'm not sure Lake can play much better and we all know McKinley can. Willie will be around next time too... it's not an excuse for the poor play, but it def had an impact on that game. Gotta get ready for Princeton and their star Mitchell. One of the state's best young players.
