On Saturday, October 31, 2015 a chapter in Canton's football history closed with the playing of the final game inside John A. Fawcett Stadium. McKinley won the final game defeating arch-rival Massillon. The facility will have exsisted for 77 years, 1 month and 14 days, a total of 28,168 days and host to an infinate amount memories that will exist until the end of time.
Although Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium has been announced and the facilty will transition into a new multi-million dollar venue in 2017 as a part of the new Hall of Fame Village, we offer a proper goodbye to an old friend, our stadium called Fawcett.
To commerate this event, Canton City Schools has produced the largest single-game program in it's history as a special keepsake souvienir to fans of both Canton and Massillon.
Included with the program will be special articles about what the stadium has meant to former players from Eric Loughry and Larry Phillips pays tribute to who is arguably Fawcett Stadium's greatest athlete to grace its turf, Marion Motley.
Also included will be the reproduction of the first McKinley-Massillon game program from 1939. You will own the first and last programs in the series played at Fawcett Stadium.
The program will be filled with photos, special memos and statistics that Charlie Bowersox began recording many years ago as every record and stat will be updated up through the first nine games of the 2015 season.
Game programs will be available at the stadium on game day and each one will cost $10.00.
