Darryl Straughter poured in a career-high 31 points to lead McKinley to a win at the LeBron James Classic in Akron. Straughter hit four 3-pointers for the Bulldogs, who improved to 6-0. He and Kwuasy Toles had four rebounds apiece. Toledo St. John's led 13-12 after one, but was outscored by McKinley 18-7 in the second quarter.

Darryl Straughter sank four 3-pointers and scored 23 total points to lead host McKinley to a massive victory at home. The victory improved the Bulldogs to 7-0 on the season. Straughter made six field goals and was 7-of-7 from the foul line. Deontae McCollum added 16 points for the Bulldogs. McCollum made three field goals and was 8-of-9 from the foul line. Isaiah Smith also chipped in a double-double of 10 points and 10rebounds for McKinley. The Bulldogs were an impressive 26-of-32 from the foul line as a team.

Matt Davet had a game-high 31 points to lead St. Ignatius. Davet had 12 field goals and was 3-of-4 from the foul line. Austin Yarrinan also had 10 points in the loss. The Wildcats trailed 55-42 going into the fourth quarter but a 30-point outburst in the final period was not enough to complete the comeback for St. Ignatius. The Wildcats fall to 4-3 on the year after the setback.

A blocked shot at the buzzer by Tymere Straughter lifted McKinley to a 68-66 win over Lutheran East on Sunday morning in the first game of the Scholastic Play-By-Play Classic at Baldwin Wallace.
Jaedyn McCallup scored the game-winning points for the Bulldogs (8-2). The 6-foot-5 junior grabbed an offensive rebound and scored with eight seconds left, breaking a 66-66 tie.
Lutheran East (6-4) quickly pushed the ball up the floor, getting the ball to DeAndre Bateman in the corner. Bateman had hit a game-high four 3-pointers. Straughter, a 6-foot junior, blocked Batemen's 3-point shot just before the buzzer sounded to seal the win.
Junior guard Deontae McCollum was selected as McKinley's game MVP after scoring 15 points. Teammate Isaiah Smith, a 6-5 senior, also scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Senior guard Darryl Straughter added 11 points, while McCallup scored 10.
Keandre Graves and Maurice Tate each scored 16 to lead Lutheran East. Bateman scored 12.
